(Ogden, UT) — Utahns are being warned about the steps that must be taken to preserve the Great Salt Lake. Utah House Speaker Brad Wilson held his second Great Salt Lake Summit yesterday to discuss ways to help restore the lake. Scientists said climate change and increasing water needs will lead to tough choices when it comes to restoring the lake. One expert put the cost of building a pipeline from the Pacific Ocean to help recharge the lake at somewhere between 60 and 100-billion dollars. Wilson announced a new public-private partnership called Utah Water Ways designed to educate Utahns on ways to use less water.
