A hot air balloon made a premature landing during the hot air balloon festival held in Kanab over the weekend of Feb. 19-21. On Feb. 20 a hot air balloon with three people on board, the pilot and two passengers, started to suddenly descend when winds unexpectedly picked up.

The basket of the balloon landed in a reservoir and started to tip sideways, but the pilot was able to quickly level the balloon and get it up and out of the water. Luckily all three on board made it back to shore safely without any injuries.

The couple on board stated that they were looking forward to something unique, but they definitely got an experience far greater than what they paid for and they look forward to flying again next year.
