(Cedar City, UT) — Hundreds of horses are scheduled to be herded out of three southern Utah counties today. The Bureau of Land Management says about 420 horses are scheduled to be moved out of Beaver, Iron, and Millard counties where the Sulphur Herd Management area is located. It’s only supposed to hold between 165 to 250 of the animals, but is currently estimated to be above 600. A helicopter will help herd the horses to a facility in central Utah.
