High-speed chase in Iron County ends in drug bust and arrests

(Beaver, UT) — Two people are facing drug trafficking charges after the Utah Highway Patrol says they led troopers on a high-speed chase on I-15.

According to UHP officials, a trooper pulled over the suspects late last night in Iron County, and became suspicious when they started acting strangely.

The suspects sped off North when the trooper used a drug-sniffing dog on the outside of the car. They reached speeds of 115 miles per hour.

Troopers used spike strips to blow out the tires and end the chase near Beaver.

Investigators found ten pounds of meth inside the a safe in the trunk of the car.
