High Speed Chase Ends in Monroe

Around 5:00 a.m. on May 8, authorities responded to a report of an individual passed out in a vehicle on the side of the road near Joseph. The individual, Collin Campbell, gave police false information when asked for his name and information. He also did not recall how he came to be on the side of the road.

Campbell then fled the scene taking SR-118 into Monroe reaching speeds over 100 mph. Authorities spiked his tires and gave him space as he entered Monroe hopping to slow the chase down.

In town, Campbell hit a dip and lost control of the vehicle, crashing into and totaling two vehicles parked on the side of the road, along with taking out a fence and mailbox.

Upon arriving at the crash site, it was discovered that Campbell had fled the scene on foot and authorities were unable to locate him. He has a history of running from the police and several warrants out for his arrest.

If anyone has information on Campbell’s whereabouts they are asked to contact the Sevier County Sheriff’s Office at (435) 896-2600.
