(Washington, DC) – Senator Orrin Hatch continues to pressure Venezuelan officials to release a Utah man who’s been imprisoned there for nearly a year. The Utah Republican released a statement yesterday calling on Venezuela’s president to release Josh Holt. Holt traveled to Venezuela last June to marry a woman he met online. He was arrested shortly after the wedding and charged with plotting against the Maduro government. His family insists the charge is politically motivated and that Holt is being used as a pawn by the Venezuelan government.Â
