Per a report from the National Weather Service, a hard freeze warning remains in effect for the Sanpete and Sevier valleys this evening through Monday morning.
As of 12:44 pm MDT Sunday afternoon, a comparable warning is in effect from Monday morning through Tuesday morning.
Sub-freezing temperatures, perhaps as low as 25 degrees, are expected in the Sanpte and Sevier valleys in either instance.
Frost and freeze conditions will kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly, outdoor plumbing may be damaged as well.
Please remember to winterize swamp coolers and RV’s. It is wise to protect tender plants from the cold.
Outdoor water pipes should also be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those residents who have in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above ground pipes to protect them from freezing.
