Gunnison City will unveil its Legacy Wall on Saturday, September 23. Activities will include chalk art, bounce houses, and games. The wall occupies the lot where the Top Stop gas station once stood. The committee that spearheaded the effort to have the wall built wanted to create a tribute to the spirit, vision, and toughness of the people in the community following the gas leak that impacted so many businesses and residents in 2007. The wall was funded through a $23,000 grant from the state, and a $25,000 grant from the Eccles Foundation. The committee is looking to raise the final $5,500 to finish the project. There will be a raffle for a scooter, a gazebo, and a $100 gift certificate from South Sanpete Pack. Private donations are welcome as well. The unveiling ceremony will begin at 5:00 pm Saturday and will be followed by musical entertainment and a dance.
