Governor Thanks UHP Trooper For Sacrificing Vehicle To Stop Wrong-Way Driver

(Salt Lake City, UT) — Governor Spencer Cox is thanking a Utah state trooper for sacrificing his vehicle to stop a wrong-way driver on Interstate 15. The Utah Highway Patrol says the driver was spotted in the northbound lanes of I-15 near 600 South early yesterday. Trooper Devin Henson used his vehicle to crash into the SUV, bringing it to a stop before anyone else was hurt. The trooper received minor injuries, while the wrong-way driver was arrested for driving under the influence. The governor said in a tweet that he spoke to the trooper and thanked him for his work to protect the public.
