(Salt Lake City, UT) — Lawmakers return to the Utah State Capitol this morning for a special session to approve a new congressional map ahead of the 2026 midterm elections. A judge has ordered the legislature to redraw boundaries in compliance with a 2018 citizen ballot initiative. The GOP-controlled redistricting committee has released five maps, while state Democratic lawmakers submitted one of their own.
