(Salt Lake City, UT) — Governor Cox says social media companies need to be held accountable for their role in the declining mental health of young people. Cox hosted a symposium on the topic yesterday in Salt Lake City. The governor and other state lawmakers discussed several potential measures such as keeping smartphones out of classrooms and barring young people from social media until they reach a certain age. Cox told social media company representatives that they could fight proposed regulations or that they could be part of the discussion to help solve the problem.
