Gov. Cox: Lake Powell Pipeline Being Bumped To “Long-Term Horizon”

(St. George, UT) — Governor Spencer Cox says he agrees with Washington County Water Conservancy District leaders that plans for a Lake Powell pipeline should be put on hold while the state focuses on conservation and water re-use methods. Cox made the comment in response to a question during yesterday’s taping of PBS Utah’s “Governor’s Monthly News Conference.” Water Conservancy District officials have said re-use of so-called gray water for agriculture could nearly double the existing local water supply.
