(Santaquin, UT) — The funeral service for fallen Santaquin police officer Sergeant Billy Dean Hooser were held today. Hooser was killed in the line of duty on May 5th when he was allegedly run over by semi-truck driver Michael Jayne, who authorities say was trying to flee from a traffic stop. The funeral took place at Utah Valley University’s UCCU Event Center. Doors opened at 8:00 a.m., and the funeral began at 10:00 a.m. There was a procession starting at 8:30 a.m. to bring Sergeant Hooser from Santaquin to the event center. He will be laid to rest at the Santaquin City Cemetery.
