(Salt Lake City, UT) — A former congressman is urging Utah Democrats to support an independent candidate in this fall’s U.S. Senate race. Ben McAdams issued a tweet yesterday urging Democrats to back independent Evan McMullin as he attempts to unseat two-term Senator Mike Lee. McAdams says McMullin has a better chance to win if Democrats unite behind him, rather than splitting the vote by putting up a candidate that has no chance to win. The tweet came as Utah Democrats held neighborhood caucus meetings around the state.
