Fishlake National Forest Controlled Burn Goes Well Monday

FISHLAKE NATIONAL FOREST, Utah-Per the official Twitter account of Utah Fire Info (@UtahWildfire), a controlled burn on the Fishlake National Forest occurred successfully Monday.

This project, known on Twitter, as #SouthMonroeRX, occurred approximately 10 miles southeast of Marysvale in Piute County.

The targeted fuels consisted of mountain brush species on the south facing slopes in Dry Creek near Bean Hill.

Utah Wildfire reported on Twitter that roughly 100 + acres were burned and, pending weather conditions, the burns will continue Tuesday and Wednesday. It is anticipated that the Richfield Ranger District of the Fishlake National Forest will handle the burns on Tuesday.
