FINAL UPDATE: The U.S. Forest Service reports 85 percent containment of the Saul’s Meadow Fire as of Friday morning.
The fire started Wednesday night and burned 18.1 acres.
Fire officials have one engine on site to check the area and mop up as needed Friday.
Officials are reminding that with labor day weekend, extra care should be taken in all outdoor activities with hot and dry conditions throughout the state.

Firefighters in Sevier County are gaining some containment of a wildfire burning East of Annabella.
The Saul’s Mountain Fire began Wednesday night. The cause is under investigation.
The U.S. Forest Service reports 18.1 acres burned with 30 percent containment as of Thursday morning.
The estimate is lower than the 50 acres estimate Wednesday evening. The Forest Service says cooler temperatures resulted in low fire behavior overnight, allowing firefighters to secure East and West flanks.
Crews plan to mop up and secure the fire’s edge Thursday. The Saul’s Meadow Road is now open.
