(Salt Lake City, UT) — Firefighters around the state are asking property owners to help them by doing a little yard work before spring wildfire season begins. Fire officials held a community wildfire preparation meeting in Salt Lake City Saturday and gave tips on how to keep approaching fires away from homes and other buildings. The biggest threat is brush and high grass that have grown as a result of a very wet spring. Fire officials are urging property owners to cut and remove that growth, saying it can become a hazard after it dries out.
