Due to increasing potential for human-caused wildfire activity and extreme fire danger, Central Utah Interagency Fire Managers are implementing stage 1 fire restrictions beginning Wednesday, June 16 on all federally administered public lands in Juab, Millard, Beaver, Piute, Wayne, Garfield, Sevier and Sanpete counties.
Fire restrictions apply to federally administered public lands and include no campfires outside of approved and maintained campgrounds, no fireworks or pyrotechnic devices outside of incorporated city limits, no shooting of exploding targets or tracer ammunition, no cutting, grinding or welding of metal, no use of equipment without a working spark arrestor and no smoking outside of a developed recreation site, personal vehicle or building.
The Central Utah Fire Interagency shared in a statement that “with increased public recreation occurring there is potential for human-caused fires. If you choose to get outside, please act responsibly.”
