Fires are allowed again throughout Central Utah.
Fire managers have rescinded fire restrictions on all unincorporated private lands, state lands and BLM lands.
This includes all of Sanpete, Juab, Millard, Sevier, Wayne and Piute Counties.
Camp fires have been restricted to designated camping sites throughout the summer. Fire managers are crediting recent rains with helping create safer conditions.
According to Jill Ivie, a fire manager with the BLM, it’s pretty common to lift restrictions around the end of August. This year was a little drier, but officials are confident rain will also come in the next few weeks.
Stage one fire restrictions are still in place in Canyon Range on the Fillmore Ranger District.
Fire managers also urge caution as wildfire danger still exists. Fireworks and exploding targets are always prohibited on public lands.
Permits for any debris burning is always required and strictly enforced.
