(Salt Lake City, UT) — Campers and hikers may soon have to pay additional fees to enjoy sites in the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest. Officials are proposing an increase in camping fees as well as a charge for parking at trailheads. More than 100 sites would be affected by the new fees. Officials say they need the money to hire additional workers and fund maintenance of the sites. Public comment on the new fees is being accepted through September 7th.
