A child is dead after an ATV crash in Kane County. According to a press release from the Kane County Sheriff’s Office, “at about 7:30 p.m. on Saturday July 5, Kane County Dispatch received a call about an ATV rollover accident on Cedar Mountain. A seven year old female was reported to be unconscious, and her family was transporting her to the Cedar Mountain Fire Station.” Emergency medical staff at the fire station provided care, but the female’s injuries were too extensive, and she passed away a short time later. She was transported to the Utah State Medical Examiners Office for further investigation. The release also shared, “the ATV was being driven by a relative and there were two other juvenile passengers in the ATV. Upon investigation it was confirmed that the driver was driving while intoxicated.” The driver was arrested and booked into the Kane County Jail on a felony charge of automobile homicide and three misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence, reckless driving and negligently operating a vehicle resulting in injury.
