Fairview City is asking residents not to use culinary water for outside watering.
According to a letter from Mayor David Taylor and the City Council, due to a mudslide in the lower portion of Fairview Canyon, Fairview City’s spring line water source has been damaged and is not filling the water tank. Currently, the City is only getting culinary water from their two wells. The Utah State Water Resource Division has tested samples of city water, and there has been no contamination due to the slide. However, there is no estimate of when the problem will be repaired, and residents are being asked not to water gardens with culinary water at this time. The Mayor and City Council are asking that any outside watering with culinary water be done sparingly until further notice. Water usage will be monitored for overage. They thank residents for their cooperation.
