An Ephraim man riding a motorcycle up Ephraim Canyon Monday evening died after hitting a vehicle coming the other direction head-on.

According to a report from the Utah Highway Patrol 46-year-old Jody Brown was riding his Suzuki motorcycle up Ephraim Canyon Road just past 5:30 pm. He was going at a high rate of speed and while going around a curve to the right he crossed the center line and struck a Toyota Camry coming down the canyon head-on.

The report states Brown was wearing a helmet but suffered fatal injuries at the scene.

The Sanpete County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance from the Utah Highway Patrol and the UHP is handling the investigation.
