SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Salt Lake City airport officials say a plane bound for Los Angeles has made an emergency landing after the engine caught fire.
Airport spokeswoman Nancy Volmer says no one was hurt when the flight returned shortly after takeoff Monday morning.
Southwest Airlines officials say in a statement the passengers are being moved to a new plane to continue their flight to Los Angeles International Airport.
Southwest says the pilots decided to return after receiving a cockpit indication of “a potential performance issue” with one of the engines, and the landing was uneventful.
