(Davis County, UT) — A former Utah state lawmaker is throwing her hat in the ring for Congress. The state elections office announced Friday Becky Edwards gathered enough signatures to qualify for the Republican primary in District Two, a seat being vacated by Chris Stewart. Edwards earned degrees at BYU and served in the Utah House of Representatives for ten years until 2019. She will go up against Celeste Maloy in September after she was chosen by the party during the GOP convention in Delta last month. The 2nd Congressional District includes Salt Lake City, St. George, Cedar City, and more.
