(Cedar City, UT) — An Illinois man who led Utah Highway Patrol officers on a 150-mile-an-hour chase from Cedar City to Beaver is pleading guilty. Officers arrested Stewart Hinton on Saturday after a chase on I-15 from Cedar City to Beaver. The UHP said Hinton took off when an officer tried to get a look at his Audi sedan for a possible window tint violation. After getting around a roadblock by swerving onto the right shoulder at about 140 to 150 miles an hour, he continued north before turning around at mile marker 128 and heading south. Hinton was finally stopped with help from a DPS helicopter and local agencies caused him to get stuck in the snow in Beaver behind the Flying J gas station. He accepting a plea bargain recommending 120 days in jail, 24 months probation, and a thousand-dollar fine.
