(Undated) — Statewide police data shows Utah’s domestic violence rate has hit record highs three years in a row. Records from Layton, Provo, St. George, Orem and Salt Lake City show there have been over 18-hundred domestic violence-related arrests per year since 2020. There’s been 15-hundred already this year, and most departments anticipate a spike in cases during the holiday season. Experts say the best thing you can do if you suspect someone is in a violent situation is to offer support and encourage them to leave.
