(Salt Lake City, UT) – Doctors anticipate the COVID-19 Omicron variant will become the most dominant strain in Utah by the start of 2022. While talking with reporters Friday, Dr. Brandon Webb for Intermountain Healthcare explained the rise of the more infectious variant in the Eastern U.S. will eventually be seen with Utah’s cases. The Utah Department of Health confirmed just over one-thousand new COVID-19 cases Friday, along with seven more patient deaths, bringing the state death toll up to 37-hundred-and-four.
