Crews gain some containment on Juab County wildfire

Crews battling a lightning caused wildfire in Juab County are gaining some ground in their efforts.

The Paint Mine Fire started Saturday three miles Northwest of Nephi. 2,665 acres have burned as of Tuesday morning with 35 percent containment.

According to the U.S. Forest Service, aerial resources have helped create a fire line to keep the blaze from spreading further.

More smoke is expected as the fire continues within the fire line Wednesday.

Approximately 180 fire personnel are assigned to the fire with three helicopters, five hand crews, six engines and two dozers.
