(Salt Lake City, UT) — Governor Spencer Cox said yesterday he would “absolutely” support a federal ban on the popular TikTok app. Cox is one of a growing number of public officials who have banned the app from state and local government devices. President Biden has demanded that the Chinese-owned app be sold to an American company or face a nationwide ban. Yesterday he referred to a statement issued when he ordered the ban in December. Cox’s statement read, “China’s access to data collected by TikTok presents a threat to our cybersecurity.”
