Cox Signs Stewardship Agreement With USDA To Help Fight Wildfires

(Salt Lake City, UT) — The state of Utah is renewing an agreement with the U.S. Department of Agriculture to help prevent wildfires in the state. Governor Cox joined USDA Secretary Tom Vilsack in Salt Lake City last week to sign the Shared Stewardship agreement. The state has worked with the USDA since 2019 to manage forest health and remove wildfire risks from 54-thousand acres of land. The governor said the joint effort has already helped reduce catastrophic wildfires in Utah.
