(Salt Lake City, UT) — Governor Spencer Cox is giving state workers time off to help with emergency response as warming weather melts more of Utah’s record mountain snowpack. During his monthly news conference yesterday, Cox announced an executive order granting eight hours of leave for all employees of executive branch agencies. Parts of the state, particularly in Southern Utah, are already flooding. Cox said he wants “an army of residents ready” as the state braces for flooding.
