(Salt Lake City, UT) — The governor of Utah is declaring a state of emergency to help prepare for possible flooding. Governor Cox issued the declaration yesterday, allowing state agencies to access a special fund set aside to deal with natural disasters. It will also allow the state to request help from the federal government and other states. The governor said the order will help the state mitigate flood damage by being better prepared for the spring runoff. The order will be in effect for 30 days.
