County Clerks Say Ranked Choice Voting Trial Going Well

(Undated) — Election officials say Utah’s first large-scale experiment with ranked-choice voting is going well. Salt Lake County Clerk Sherrie Swenson tells KUTV that software designed to count ranked-choice votes is working as expected. Utah County is also counting ranked-choice ballots in several races, and their clerk says there have been no surprises in the counting process. Twenty-three Utah cities are participating in the ranked-choice voting trial. All results in this year’s municipal election are unofficial until certified.
