Thousands of people find their Christmas and holiday trees on public lands every year.
The BLM Utah will begin selling non-commercial permits to cut pinyon pine, juniper, and fir trees on Nov. 4. The Manti-La Sal National Forest will begin selling Christmas tree permits Nov. 18 until sold out or until Dec. 23.
Permits for the Manti-La Sal National Forest will cost $10 each, with a limit of three permits per person. Their office is located at 540 North Main Street in Ephraim and is open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. closed from 12 to 12:30 p.m.
Permits will also be sold for Manti-La Sal National Forest by Choice Hardware & Home Center at 1005 N. Main in Nephi.
For the BLM, excluding federal holidays, permits are available for purchase during BLM regular business hours at the following locations:
Fillmore Field Office
