(South Salt Lake, UT) — Two women at the center of an AMBER Alert in South Salt Lake are in custody. Police say four children taken by Yaneli Murillo and Maria Alvarez were found unharmed yesterday afternoon at a house in West Valley City. Officers say Murillo and her mother abducted the two-month-old and two-year-old after the Division of Child and Family Services was awarded custody of the children. The two suspects then took Alvarez’s nine-year-old and 11-year-old out of school. A spokesperson says South Salt Lake police will work closely with the district attorney’s office to determine what charges will be filed against the two women.
