Cement Powder Shortage Slows Construction

Contractors in central Utah are having a hard time getting their hands on Cement Powder after the manufacturing plant that supplies up to 75% of it in Utah was shut down for a number of weeks. Ash Grove, Utah’s primary supplier, was shut down for about three weeks while waiting for a replacement part. Ash Grove shared that during that time they depleted their stockpile and will now need to catch up to industry demands.

While they play catch up, their customers will only receive a portion of their usual allocation causing slow downs in the construction industry that will likely last throughout the summer. Projects already effected include The Links in Richfield as well as the new city park being built in Richfield.
