CDC Investigating More Monkeypox Cases

(Atlanta, GA) — The CDC is investigating four more suspected monkeypox cases in the U.S. All are in men and are related to travel. CDC officials said yesterday the suspected cases being investigated include one in New York City, one in Florida, and two in Utah. The first case in the U.S. was confirmed last week in a man in Massachusetts. The CDC expects more cases to turn up but says there’s no evidence the virus is spreading widely and notes the U.S. has a stockpile of vaccines that can be used for close contacts of people who are infected.
