Car fire in Monroe

Late in the morning on May 4th the Monroe fire department responded to a call about a fire in the back yard of a house in Monroe.

According to Sevier County Sheriff Nathan Curtis, “the home owner was burning tree branches and stepped away from the fire for a minute and when he returned the fire had spread and burned three vehicles completely and partially a fourth.”

According to reports Monroe fire was able to put out the fire quickly. No injuries were reported and the value of the vehicles has not yet been determined.
