CAPITOL REEF NATIONAL PARK, Utah (AP)-Per the official Twitter of Capitol Reef National Park, Johnson Orchard will open August 31 for picking.

Capitol Reef’s Web site states that visitors may stroll through orchards at any time, but fruit cannot be picked until the orchard is posted as being open for picking.

Johnson Orchard is open Thursday from 9:00 am-5:00 pm MDT for Flemish Beauty and Bartlett pears and is anticipated to be open for 2-4 days.
