Authorities say a California man has died after an accident at a Utah ski resort on New Year’s Eve.

Park City Mountain resort officials said Wednesday the 20-year-old from Sherman Oaks was pronounced dead by air ambulance crews after the afternoon accident on an intermediate-level trail.

They are declining to identify the man.

The Summit County Sheriff’s Office is investigating, but did not immediately release the man’s identity to allow his family time to inform relatives.

The resort is located east of Salt Lake City, near the site of the Sundance Film Festival set to begin later this month.
