BYU Student Seen Defacing LGBTQ Chalk Art No Longer Enrolled

(Provo, UT) — A Brigham Young University student seen on video washing out chalk art messages supporting LGBTQ students is no longer enrolled. Officials for BYU won’t say whether he dropped out or was expelled. In the video recorded last month, the man is seen pouring out a water bottle over the chalk art, before using a homophobic slur to describe LGBTQ people. Shortly after the video’s release, the LDS Church-owned school strongly condemned the student’s behavior, noting he could be punished under BYU’s Honor Code.
