(Provo, UT) — Brigham Young University is apparently declining millions of dollars in COVID-19 funding from the federal government. The Department of Education announced yesterday that Utah colleges would be getting 506-million-dollars in funding allocated through the American Rescue Plan Act. The announcement also said BYU received over 88-million-dollars as part of its efforts to help students during the pandemic. But the university says it has not applied for, requested or received any COVID-19 relief money from the federal government. A spokesperson says BYU has implemented its own plan to help students affected by the pandemic.
