Boy Scout Leader Dies in Head-On Crash in Juab County

NEPHI, Utah (AP)-Per a report from ABC 4 Utah in Salt Lake City, Saturday afternoon a 78-year-old man was killed during a head-on collision on the Juab-Millard County line on Interstate 15.

There was also a boy life-flighted to a nearby hospital who was in the vehicle as well.

The 78-year-old man was driving a 2005 Ford Excursion with a 34-foot trailer and collided with a van, per the Utah Highway Patrol, when the trailer began to sway. This caused the Excursion to leave the roadway and enter into the median.

The Excursion rolled multiple times and one of the Scouts not wearing a seat belt was ejected, suffering minor injuries.

All other occupants in the vehicle were wearing seat belts and suffered minor injuries while later being transported to Central Valley Medical Center of Nephi.
