Bodycam Video From Deadly Farmington Shooting Released

(Farmington, UT) — The Farmington Police Department is allowing the public to see bodycam video of a confrontation that left one person dead last week. The department released video from five bodycams and one dashcam yesterday. An officer initially pulled over 25-year-old Chase Allan for not having a license plate on his vehicle. Allan is seen in the video refusing to identify himself and then refusing to get out of the vehicle. The video shows him reaching to his right toward what appears to be a gun holster, and an officer shouts about a gun several times before shots are fired. The chief of police defended the officers’ actions yesterday, calling them reasonable and appropriate.
