(Sandy, UT) — Authorities are releasing body camera footage of a deadly police shooting in Sandy. Officials released the video on Friday, showing the moments leading up to the officer shooting and killing Dylan Murphy last month. Police encountered Murphy after getting a call from his brother that he had injured himself and was suicidal. The video shows the officer meeting Murphy and commanding the 33-year-old to show his hands before opening fire seven seconds later. The officer fired his weapon again after Murphy began running at him. It’s unclear which round of gunfire hit Murphy.
