(Moab, UT) — The Bureau of Land Management is admitting that some damage has been done to an area containing historic dinosaur tracks near Moab. The bureau said yesterday that a paleontologist has determined that a construction project at the Mill Canyon Dinosaur Tracksite did damage some dinosaur footprints. Construction work was halted at the site after pictures showing the damage were posted to social media last month. The BLM had previously denied the use of heavy equipment in the protected area. The agency will review an assessment by the paleontologist and make recommended changes before continuing any construction.
