(Monticello, UT)  –  Bird lovers in southeastern Utah have the opportunity to participate in an international event this weekend.  The Canyon Country Discovery Center in Monticello is set to hold the first ever Great Backyard Bird Count on Saturday.  The international bird behavioral assessment event is sponsored by the Audubon Society and Cornell University.  Participation is free and the public is encouraged to take part in a day of spotting and cataloging the activities of several bird species.  Information is available at FourCornersSchool.Org and eBird.Org.
