(Salt Lake City, UT) — President Joe Biden and his Republican opponent appear to be bypassing the nonpartisan Commission on Presidential Debates. That is not good news for the University of Utah which is set to host the third official CPD presidential debate on October 9th. Both Biden and former President Donald Trump exchanged barbs on social media as they looked to agree to a debate in late June. The CPD announced its formal debate schedule back in November 2023. At that time, the first presidential debate was set for Texas State University on September 16th, with Virginia State University hosting the second installment, to be followed by the University of Utah.
