Bears Ears Tribal Leaders Ready For Legal Fight

(Washington, DC) — Tribal leaders say they’re prepared to go to court if the Trump administration tries to rescind the Bears Ears National Monument designation. Several leaders with the Bears Ears Inter-Tribal Coalition appeared at the National Press Club today to urge Trump and Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke to listen to their concerns. They say they’ve already met with Utah’s congressional delegation, but have yet to hear from Trump and Zinke. Zinke last week said he would sit down with tribal leaders.
